Speedblog

So, another friend of mine has split from his wife. Here's a couple with two kids, both under 3 years old, who have been together since high school, got married almost as soon as the graduated and HOUNDED me everytime I went over to play cards: "When are you and Diane getting married?" We're not. "When are you two going to start having kids?" We're not. It's not that we don't love each other enough, or that we don't want to spend the rest of our days together (although we work so far apart), it's, for me, a greater sense of....

Anyways, he's left her, and after a week of being out of the house, he's hooked up with another chick.

Goddammit!! I'm out of time again!!!! More later.

well IMHO I've never understood why people get married so young. It's inevitable that people change, especially in their twenties.

It's cool that you and Diane don't bow to pressure. If you both like the status quo and you're both content to spend the rest of your lives together then what's there to say? You both will probably be better off then your friends that married out of obligation, conformity or fear =)

Or stay together "for the kids". I can't tell you how often I hear that. What really drives me nuts is that everybody is so fucking selfish. "It didn't work out because we had differences." Bullshit. It didn't work out because people won't compromise, look at something from someone else's POV, or talk about problems. When I'm upset, I'll tell someone and try to resolve it. None of this "You're not me, so you couldn't possibly understand."

But here I am ranting again.
