Blood and Runes

Drained. I'm drained today. My rune set is complete, and I have almost no energy left in me. It took four hours from start to finish.
I lit three candles, one for each of the rune sets, the aetts, also one for each of the Norns. I heated a piece of wire in the candles' flames and burned the runes into each of the wooden disks I'd previously cut from a fruit tree. As I worked at making each rune, I contemplated the rune itself, it's associations, it's meanings, it's relationship with the other runes. When I had completed the twenty four runes, I asked Odin to grant me wisdom and truth to use the runes, to guide me in my use of the runes.
I made a small cut on my left palm, and pressed each rune to it, again one at a time, speaking the name of the rune aloud. It doing so, I hoped to bind the rune to me, to "open myself" to the rune, and make the set mine by my blood. The set turned out good, in my humble opinion. I'm going to try some readings tomorrow.
But today, I'm drained.

I took a lot of mental energy and physical energy. I was exhausted by the time I was done. I think the energy went from me into the runes. I plan to explore more with it tomorrow night, after work. I want to try them out; do some divination and memory work. I might do some tonight, but I think it would be better to take a break, regain my senses.

that would definitely be a great idea :) You should just take it easy tonight-- bunker down with some tea, a blanket and a good book/comic.

:) That's precisely what I had planned. I feel good though. It was a big project for me and I finished it. Its like a content weary I'm feeling.
How have you been?

hungry. I made a weird smoothie with chocolate carnation instant breakfast (which oddly is okay for people on insulin medication), almond milk and coffee. It was good but I'm starving.

Other than that I'm relaxed but still feeling a bit nauseous. Looking forward to Star Wars Celebration III :)

Barb and I were talking about breakfast shakes and protien powders and stuff like that. She figured stuff like that has no substance, so it can't fill you up.
And I'm excited for you for Celebration III. You'll have to kiss a wookie while you're there :)

I make all sorts of smoothies and depending on what you make, they can be healthy. yesterday I made one with pineapple, light coconut milk and organic yogurt. the day before I made one with blueberry juice extract, organic blueberry yogurt and tofu.

:) but yeah, the store bought ones are that healthy plus they're full of sugar.

I forgot you were a smoothie queen. I don't even own a blender, but I have 3 tea pots :) Apparently my herbs are starting to sprout at home *yay*

Good luck. I've never had a nickname that stuck. The closest so far is "Skywalker", which Len started calling me when I started here, but hardly anyone else calls me that :P

my nickname is chewie :)

I'm a giddy because of the book and cd!

Chewie because you're cute and fuzzy? Or Chewie because you could tear the ears off a gundar?
