Lazy Days

I've been feeling lazy the last couple of days. The combination of working 12 hour days (which, if you count getting ready for, driving to and from are actually 14hrs), the rainy evenings and too sunny, too hot days, and having the house to myself have left me tired and drained. Last night I watched three back to back episodes of CSI season 2 because I was too lazy to get up and put something else in the dvd player. I went to bed at 8:44pm and was asleep by 8:47. I have hope for today, however. The sky is overcast and windy, and they are calling for thunderstorms. I hope they're right. I find the heat and brightness of the day saps me, makes me tired, probably because I walk around with my eyes half closed from squinting.

I've been doing a bit of research in wand making, and I have the concepts worked out in my head. Once I'm done gathering materials (part planning, part intuition), I'll write out my ritual for the 1st and have my tool prepared for dedication. I'm going to force myself to get started on it right away. I'm also thinking about looking for an althame this weekend, and perhaps doing a dual dedication ritual.

Sonja changed the look of OSW&DW yesterday, and I approve :) I had in mind a greener vision, but the moon and the black branches in the twilight sky is awesome.

I've added a couple of herb books to my wishlist:

  • The Green Pharmacy: The Ultimate Compendium of Natural Remedies from the World's Foremost Authority on Healing Herbs by James Duke
  • The Green Pharmacy Herbal Handbook: Your Everyday Reference to the Best Herbs for Healing by James Duke

I want to learn not just about the magical properties of herbs, but also the medicinal properties. Blend the two into a practicle usage of herbs.

well y'see it's just temporary. Mozilla browser breaks my designs because it has a problem comprehending something as simple as a css box. For a browser this should be as easy recognizing the back of your hand.

I'm working on a graphic for it but for now I thought I'd put that one up. glad you like it :) I hope one day you feel inclined to post. If you don't want to that's perfectly fine but just say so, m'dear. One blog is enough, I wouldn't want to stress you out *lol* ;)

I was thinking the same thing. I will post soon, I promise. I just worry about it being worth while, which is why I like to post my suppositions here and post something concrete there.

I was thinking about doing my daily rune thing there, expanding the ideas and meanings behind them; giving a more complete explaination of the rune.

oh! I found my athame btw!! :D and I wanted to ask you a favour. Since you're the poet and the intellectual, if I write out some Othila stuff can you edit them for me and make it sound good? =} I tend to be too 'matter of fact'.

what type of wood were you considering for your wand? I was thinking oak for both my runes and wand. perhaps pine? hmm, or hazel.

I'm using birch. I love birch, for many reasons (one of which being its an indigenous tree around here, but hard to find).

I could definately try to help you out. What did you have in mind?

What does your althame look like?

what I had in mind is, I'm trying to write out my 'structure' and it sounds blunt. If I get it typed out will you proof read it and make it sound poetic?

and I'll send you an email with a picture of the athame I want :D

Send the "structure" too. I'll e-mail it back to you and let you read it. :)

You'd have the read the previous entry to know to what the "fight" refers. But you're right, its a bad choice of words. Struggle might be more appropriate. Even that is revealing. Should it be so hard to get loved ones to make up & play nice? Thanks, though. Food for thought.
